In today's fast-paced digital landscape, attention has become one of the most valuable currencies. Task 10 examines how digital interfaces and design choices influence, capture, and often manipulate our attention in what is known as the attention economy. Through my experience with User Inyerface (Bagaar, 2019), I discovered firsthand how deceptive design and "dark patterns" can influence user behavior and decision-making. This reflection examines how such tactics operate beneath the surface of everyday interactions, urging us to think critically about the ethics of design and the psychology of engagement. Join me as I unpack how technology not only competes for our attention but also reshapes how we read, respond, and connect in the digital world.
